These are some of the largest freshwater turtles in the North America. These awesome little guys have pointed snouts for burrowing underground to find food. Be sure to provide a dry basking area along with a heat lamp and UVB lighting.

Species: Apalone spinifera
Origin: Captive Bred
Size: Approximately 1.5-2 inches. Adults reaching up to 24 inches

Natural Range: Southeastern United States. Primarily Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida
Food: Turtle pellets
Lifespan: Up to 30+ years in captivity with proper care
