This a terrific smaller species that is fabulous for an indoor terrarium setup. These are distinctly aquatic turtles that are known to be bottom feeders.  Red Cheeked Mud turtles do great in glass tanks and warm weather ponds. Hatchlings start out as a light red/orange color.
